FREE Kids Dino Dig
5th - 19th April
FREE Kids Dino Dig at Whitgift
Get up close and personal with life-size dinosaurs at the Whitgift centre this Easter half term.
From Saturday 5th – Saturday 19th April, the centre will come to life with a range of prehistoric dinosaurs from T-Rex to Triceratops along with a whole host of fossils.
Join the team of professors each day for a unique expedition. Starting off at the digging sites, located in Whitgift Square, children will be equipped with special tools and outfits and will receive training from the ‘paleontology professor’. The professor will teach the children how to dig for the fossils and how to handle any that they find.
Once the training is complete, the class will go off to the digging site to take part in a life like excavation.
Following the excavation, the class along with their parents can go on a tour around the centre using their trail maps to discover many more of the prehistoric animals. At the end of the tour, children will be invited to take a seat for a few minutes in the documentary area to learn all about life on earth millions of years ago.
Each child that participates in Kids Dino Dig will also be awarded with an ‘expert paleontologist’ certificate.
Kids Dino Dig is FREE and will take place each day from 5th - 19th April. The event will run from 10am - 6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am - 5pm on Sunday.
You can pre-book your place online by clicking here or alternatively visit the centre on any day throughout the event to take part by visiting the registration desk in Whitgift Square. The life like dig should last around 30 minutes and is suitable for children aged 6-12 years.
Other exhibitions and rides are suitable for children aged over 3 but should be supervised at all times by parents or guardians.
